Come Fly With Me – Travel Themed Wedding Inspiration

Hey Y’all!

I don’t know about you, but one of my favorite things to do is travel. Generally, I like to eat my way through cities, following in the footsteps of an episode of one Anthony Bourdain show or another, while soaking in historic architecture. I also love military history, so if there’s a fort, bunker, or maritime museum around, you can bet that’s where I’ll be!

So, of course, I had so much fun dreaming up a Come Fly With Me wedding, complete with cute mini bottle favors for the flight home (well, sort of)!

I really wanted to this wedding to have a slightly vintage feel, to take guests back to an era when travel was grand! Map details help to give a cohesive feel; from the initial impression with invitations, to cutting that gorgeous globe-inspired cake. I love the idea of using ticket stubs as escort cards, taking guests on a trip to tables named after cities that you’ve visited together.

Guests will enjoy throwing paper airplanes as you walk back up the aisle, and it makes for great pictures! Entertain them during cocktail hour with a spin on the traditional photobooth by taking passport-sized photos in front of an old map (the kind your teacher used to pull over the chalkboard at school, how cool?).

A vintage leather trunk filled with pretty pink flowers would make for the perfect centerpiece, and is my favorite detail of this board by far! I know, how surprising, the gorgeous blooms won me over, again. What can I say, I can’t pass up a garden rose!

Do you and your fiancee love taking trips to new and exciting places? A travel-themed wedding may be perfect for you!

xoxo,

Lindsay
