Daniel & Sara’s 1940’s Hotel Congress Wedding

Hey Y’all!

I’m so excited to share this gorgeous 1940’s-inspired wedding with you!

Sara contacted me just 7 weeks before her big day! September 4th was a special date to her and Daniel (and luckily, it was a Thursday!), and they didn’t want to wait a full 12 months to say “I Do”. So, we jumped into action!

Sara is in love with the 40’s, and knew that she wanted to incorporate as many vintage details as she could into the big day. The historic Hotel Congress was the perfect setting for these vintage vows, and an amazing team of wedding professionals came together to help bring Sara’s lavish vision into reality…

Of course, none of these pretties would be here without our friends at Sunstreet Photo. Thank you Shaun and Molly for the gorgeous images!

The groom’s son was the cutest ring bearer I’d ever seen! Not only did he come with us to every meeting (and even pointed out chiavari chairs at the cake studio…adorable!), he even insisted on wearing a classic white dinner jacket, even after his dad nixed the idea himself!

The pretty chuppah from Frostings Event Design & Rentals really softened the space, and hanging a chandelier in the center created a truly luxurious vibe.

One of the most touching moments of the day was when Sara surprised Daniel with a private table on the rooftop, complete with delicious appetizers and a bottle of wine. It was the perfect opportunity for the two to slow down and enjoy each other’s company, while their guests played at cocktail hour downstairs.

I still can’t get over these centerpieces…they took luxe to a whole new level!

Have you heard the old superstition that rain on your wedding day is good luck? Sara & Daniel were blessed with more than just a drizzle. In fact, it rained so hard, that the entire block experienced a blackout! Luckily, we had SO MANY candles lit, you could hardly tell that the lights were off. This is one of my favorite pictures, hands down!
